Hi Brian, speak to the hardware experts at you local store, but I think so, Glue, called mastic, is the least expensive method for installing tiles. Mastic adheres the tile directly to a wooden sub-floor, to a wooden back-splash or onto a piece of plywood.
Yes. Best to use caulk gun w a good quality glue that holds tile in place pretty quickly
Tile mastic should work. As long as the wood is flat and stable. Thinset will not grip to wood.
