How do I repair my uneven floor?
We bought a house with a large space in kitchen/dining that has uneven floor(on wood piers with 12x12 ceramic tiles as the last flooring effort). The tiles are cracking bc of the uneven floor. DIY suggestions that don’t cost an arm & a leg???

Tiles will always crack if the subfloor is bad. I would try some floor leveling compound before laying a new floor. Schluter makes a product called Ditra that can be installed under tile to isolate flooring from subfloor.
It won't be cheap.
Jennifer, you need to level the floors with a leveling agent before any tile or wood will work without giving you the same problems you have now. Ask a carpenter at a place like Home Depot or Lowes if you need to remove the tile before leveling. I think you wood have to, but not sure. If you DIY it shouldn't cost a lot. This video will explain how the floor is leveled.

Hope it's not structural. You will need to remove the tile. Use a latex modified floor leveling compound to level the floor. Then you can cover with anything you choose.
