How do I use this product?
We recently had new cabinets installed in the kitchen but there are a few small areas of hardwood flooring that need to be touched up (see pictures) the flooring is original to the house and was completely refinished 2 years ago when we bought the house. The areas of concern are in low or close to no traffic as they are right at the baseboard. The product label doesn't list flooring on the suggested usage but it is low traffic and such small areas will it matter? I like the ease of application this product claims. It does say in BOLD do not apply polyurethane on top of this product is says to use Howards Feed-N-Wax to protect and maintain. Also the product says no sanding required (see picture), that is the part I'm iffy on.

I think you can tape the cabinets/wall with painters tape (unless you are sure you can keep it on the floor only) and then follow the directions and apply with a cloth. I don't think it matters at all that it's going to be used in low traffic areas.
love HOWARD's products ... they have great customer service -- call them!! but I think you'll be safe using it on your floors unless you intend to use a polyurethane finish later on .... don't know how long it would take for this product to be absorbed ... I use the FEED/WAX on all my 'real' wood furniture -- cabinets, tables, etc; You don't need to sand to restore/repair heat/moisture rings, faded finished or minor scratches or blemishes ... you don't want! to sand as you don't want to change the COLOR of the surface, only restore it to it's original color/finish
I love this stuff. I use it on my walnut table all the time. It's great for refreshing scratched furniture as well. It should work great on your floor. Try it in a hidden spot first if you're nervous.
You could get a touch up marker close to the same color I think they are made by minwax and can be bought at lowes or menards in the paint and stain area.
I've used this product for years. Use cheesecloth. If it goes on too thick, just wipe excess. I've used it to touch up old oak floors in my kitchen. It's a wonderful quick fix for all woods.

Like others, I love this product to spruce up old finishes rather than stripping and refinishing. I would rely on their customer service about using it on floors, but suspect it will work in the low traffic areas you describe.
Your can shows golden oak. Photos can be deceptive, but I think you need a darker shade. I comes in a variety of shades.
You may want to consider toner lacquers. You can google it. I have also use light (very light) overspray of paint to mask light areas. Multiple colors can be used to imitate wood tones. If it get too opaque, just wipe with mineral spirits/paint thinner and start over. Remember very light coats and be sure to protect/mask the cupboards.

Hi Christine. Use an artist's brush and test a section by brushing it on. If the color is not matching up, stop and have it done by a floor company. Otherwise that area will be like a beacon in the night. You eyes will always be drawn to it.
