Tomatoes are not forever plants. They are seasonal and die when through fruiting. Plant seeds in early spring.

This is Linda. Is the vine part of the tomato plant or a vine that grew from the soil? If it's not part of the actual plant, just pull it out. If it's part of the plant, something went wrong or if you've already had tomatoes, the plant has just run it's course. I'm guessing that you planted yours in a container so if that's the case, here are some tips.
