You can tac it up with little nails or hang it like drapery.

I used to upholster walls as a business. When we did showcase houses for charity events and they did not want a permanent installation, I used sheets of wallboard and wrapped fabric around the fronts and lightly tacked the panels to the walls. Sometimes, we applied fabric directly to the enamel painted doors using a product that would allow it to be stripped off easily. It has been a long time, but I seem to remember a starch-like product which worked.

I did one temporary one that we had to tack up, but we used strips of lattice wood around the perimeter of the wall as a frame to tack into with a staple gun. You still have to use small nails to tack the wood strips to the wall first. Cover the staples with decorative trim that you can glue on with white glue or a glue gun.

mix glue and water to thin the glue. this makes a paste that can be easily washed off the walls. dip fabric in paste and hang like wallpaper. when you want it down just pull off. may need water to help loosen fabric from walls.
