What type of bamboo.
Plant it in the ground but beware it's reproduces quickly and is extremely difficult to get rid of. Good luck. My grandmother grew bamboo for fishing poles when I was growing up and it was difficult to control and it reproduces with runners or shoots. Again, good luck.
NOT BAMBOO part of the Dracena family caning plants;cut it off if you don't want it to be so tall or just keep tipping the new growth so it sprouts lower on stalks, stick cut off piece(s) in water with other piece; it cannot grow in sun it'll burn and won't survive any cold temps.;repot in water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBsAVesizZo in soil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hckXlHw_TWM typical house plant care very bright light no direct sun,no drafts, warm temps.,if in soil good drainage, dry soil then water thoroughly, both in water or soil water soluble miracle grow fertilizer 1-2x year add as regular watering schedule.
