How do you cover a popcorn ceiling that is bowing?
The popcorn ceiling is bowing. I'm needing a cheap, efficient way to cover and make it appear flat again. I don't want to have to replace sheet rock if at all possible (what a mess).

I don't want to go to the trouble and mess to remove mine, but I hat for it to hurt the value of the house when I get ready to sell someday.
There has to be a reason why the ceiling is bowing. That should be addressed before anything else.
First you need to find out why it is bowing as anything you place over it will have a chance of bowing too. Is there any water intrusion? An undetected leak? How about installing bead board?
Strongly recommend replacing the ceiling, it's falling. Anything you add to it will just put more weight on it. So sorry.
Thanks so much!
