Love seat back with cushions removed. You can see where it's falling apart .
How do I redo a patio furniture frame?
I have a love seat and two chairs that are metal framed. The frames are in great condition. The isssue I'm having is the with the wicker-like mesh that supports the cushions, its old and brittle and coming apart. I have pictures of the love seat. What can I use to replace the brittle mesh wicker-like stuff so I can use my set this coming season? I want to keep costs down as I am on a budget. The bottom (wide straps) in the picture is fine and intact, it's the back supports that are the problem. Help!!☺
Here's the picture of the whole love seat.

Repair/Refinish water damaged antique furniture?
What is the best way to refinish antique furniture that has water damage and the wood is separated in some areas.
I would take out/cut out the broken, unstable parts and re-weave with another type of material. Look up patio chair webbing. Amazon has some great options. And there are a large array of how to's and videos available on re-construction. Good Luck!
Google welders in your area, take in photos,if not the item, and see what they charge to put metal supports in. Glue VERY WELL where the rattan wraps around frame where the joints are. They may have to ( very likely) remove all the rattan.where you decide the supports go.
I had to do something similar , I had chair where the back support was fabric, that got old and disintegrated. For 2 bars across the back it cost me 30.00 a chair. I only did 2 . I still have 2 more to do. I recommend going to metal scrap yard and finding something that would work, comfortably, and pay just for the welds.
If a cushion covers it, you could add a metal mesh from the hardware store.
