I have three vintage bread boxes that I use for storage. One in my craft room for supplies, one in my kitchen for spices, and the third in my kitchen pantry for hand tools.

You might add a small tiered shelf inside (the plastic ones are adjustable for length) and make a spice cabinet out of it.
I'm always looking for stamps, my address labels, envelopes, stationery, pens that are spread all over the house. You could make a little supply cabinet of those small things, and keep it handy.
Our household uses lots of batteries, in various sizes. Make it a storage cabinet to keep batteries readily available.
