Ruth, Laminate counter tops are the easiest and look fantastic. They have come a long long way in the past 10 years. Also there are 1/4 inch thick quartz and other counter tops you set over the existing counter tops that are much less expensive and easier to install than solid tops. They are real, just thinner, cheaper, and easier to install. Check with your local home improvement stores at these two choices to get more ideas and to compare prices.
