I have never had to deal with stink bugs in the house before. I have killed 4 in one week. I don’t know how they got in but I want them gone. How do I get rid of stink bugs?

I had an infestation years ago. Here was my lessons learned: First thing is don't squish them, flush them, from what I've read the scent acts as an attractant (not sure if that's a word, but you get the point). Be on the look out for tiny nymphs crawling along baseboards. I've noticed they like yellow and light blue walls, these you can squish. I also used a few drops of eucalyptus or mint in a water bottle and sprayed where I saw any...again, trying to reduced their scent, especially around windows, vents and door jams. Oh, and don't use a vacuum on them unless you have an old one and plan to toss it anyway. Good luck!

I agree with Fee_dom except instead of flushing each time and wasting water, get a small jar of water and add a squirt of dish detergent. The detergent breaks the surface tension of the water and the bugs will drown with a quick shake. Keep a lid on it until you catch a few. It is difficult to find where they have come in at. The edges of windows, in the tracks of the screens is often where the overwinter. A chimney, under garage doors, the tiniest crack you think they won't fit will do the trick. Inspect all around these areas outside and seal with caulking. They flatten themselves and can squeeze into the tiniest cracks.

Good luck. ...I hate them. I also found that an extendable lambs wool fluffy duster is the best way to catch them. They are often out of reach. One quick twist on them catches their legs in the duster long enough to capture them and pop into a jar. Even those on the ceiling you can't reach.

Mine come in through the fireplace! Instead of touching them, I suck them into my vacuum cleaner.

Homemade stink bug traps squash store-bought models, Virginia Tech researchers find. Researchers from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences found that the best way to get rid of stink bugs is to fill a foil roasting pan with water and dish soap and put a light over the pan to attract them.
