Why not cut out the letters from anything you have around and stick them on.
buy some letter stencils you can get them at any hardware store or Walmart you place the stencils on the wood then paint or trace them here's how to use stencil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKsZ05rBAHs
Stencils are your answer! Sold at any craft and hobby store.
You can print some letters you like them trace them on the front then again on the back, then put down on your sign and press down harder when tracing. There should be enough pencil mark to use as a guide for using Sharpie pens to finish.
