How can I utilize my bedroom closet as a bedroom closet?

closet is approx 3'x8' of course , as most old houses, has 1 rod at far end . then nothing. what can be done to utilize this space.?

add xtra long heavy duty tension rod or wood dowel acoss 8ft length of closet setting one end just above the one already in closet ---- add 2 additional rods in front of rod already in closet you'll have to rotate clothes ones in front in season ones in back least used
You can add a second rod that hangs off the first rod. They sell the extensions in places like Target. Just hooks onto the upper rod. You could also add some kind of stacking system like from Closet Maid that you can fold clothing and put inside.
Annie, I really don't understand your quesiton/issue. Would you please elaborate? A photo would really help, too.
