Can I fit a king bed in a 12x14 room?

  • sure, a king bed is roughly 6 ft. x 6ft. It mostly depends on what other furniture you want with it and where the windows are. It's the placement that can be tricky if you are blocking windows, etc.

    Yes, however minimize the other furniture as the bed will be the focal point. We have a king size bed, one white dresser, a rich velour chair/side table and 2 bedside tables. It works with careful placement.

    Yes! Use nightstands that are smaller (look for drink table size) or build them out from the wall.

    I’ve done it and we mounted shelves on the wall instead of tables.

    Yes, but it will always look a bit big for the room, but hey ho! as long as it is useable and you have no other choice, go for it!

    According to experts in interior design, the minimum room size where a king-sized bed can be placed easily is 12 feet by 9-10 feet. A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 30 inches of space around the bed. This not only gives plenty of space for free movement.
