sure, a king bed is roughly 6 ft. x 6ft. It mostly depends on what other furniture you want with it and where the windows are. It's the placement that can be tricky if you are blocking windows, etc.
Yes, however minimize the other furniture as the bed will be the focal point. We have a king size bed, one white dresser, a rich velour chair/side table and 2 bedside tables. It works with careful placement.
