Hello Kristen. I would mix in off white and baby blue. I recommend that you pick your bedding first. And then pull one or two colors out of the bedding and work those colors into the room with rugs, art, pillows, etc. Good luck Kristen.
I like blue and white in bedrooms.
I went with light blue walls, a light weighted bed spread with multi shades of blue and dark blue drapes. The furniture is wood grained so brown. A nice touch is to add decals to the closet doors. Try amazon.com for hundreds of decals and individual ratings for most from customers.
The bed has a metal edging to it. Here's a better picture. The closet is on the other side of the bathroom so that won't work. :(
The white and beige tones are all "neutrals". I would choose a color I LOVE and that makes me feel happy, content, calm - just what you want to feel in the room you sleep in.
For me personally and with the current color trends, I would choose a color darker than navy but not too dark. I would use it in the bedding and also paint the back wall a similar color or wallpaper with that color. Imagine the scene just as the photo above: The fabric headboard, deep blue and white linens and pillow (simple, no pattern) with a gorgeous feature wall behind either in a textured wallpaper in navy or geometric navy & silver or...
