There is a very good no scrub product "wet & forget shower" that will take a little time but clean & keep clean your shower. As long as there isn't marble in the area, it is safe to use.

You can also cut a grapefruit in half, cover with coarse salt, and use this to scrub the glass.

Lysol Power Scrub in the blue trigger spray bottle is also very good for removing residue but it's designed for soap scum. I'm not sure how well it will help with hard water.

I keep a hand held squidgy in the shower and use it after each shower. If ready bad as mine were when I moved into my new condo I used Heavy Duty Acidic Cleaner. I purchased this at Lowes and it works wonders. Only have to use it once or twice a year with the daily use of the squidgy.

We are currently using a squeegee but somehow the stains still appear! Yes, we do have very hard water! I find that the outside of the glass also gets hard water stains & who knows where they come from. But I am very frustrated so I will go with the acid & then keep at it the best I can! Thanks so much for the info!

After cleaning the shower glass @ fixtures, I use Original Rainx that you put on car windshields. Spray and buff out with a cloth or papertowel. It helps shed the water and makes cleaning any alkali that does accumulate ,much easier. P

Clean the shower down and dry, every time it is used with the wettest towel before it goes into the wash! In the meantime use a spray for Calcium deposits, and follow instructions!

  • Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 solution of Dawn dish soap and vinegar. Spray it on the hard water stains and let it work. If they are tougher stains, you may have to scrub with a plastic scrubbie!
