Rustoleum or Homax tub and tile paint kits. Proper prep is the key. Do not take any shortcuts.

Call a professional painter that deals with tub painting. They will be able to clean and repaint to white - using the correct paint for the tub material. I wouldn't do it as a DIY project. Too messy and potential problems.

Just an FYI. Even prof painted tub finishes, are delicate. Once scratched will peel. Expect about 3 or 4 years max out of the job. I have an antique claw foot, redo mine every 4 years. Runs about $350 +.each time. I tell my clients to paint now, and start a remodel account.

I repainted tubs with epoxy paint in 1992. was I ever sorry! It wrinkled and it peeled for 4 years until I finally got it all peeled off. Nothing would take it off but just pealing.

Personally, I would not bother as it will only look ok for a short while and then it starts to deteriate it will look worse than ever. Better to get a new bath in the end or live with it. Change up everythingelse in the room to go with the Bath - Try a Bold look in there, then you won't notice the bath so much!

Get a bathtub paint kit. It will last a few years because it does scratch. I would call a company to have it done professionally.

  • They make kits for this. Be sure to get the tub spotlessly clean before painting.

  • You can get a tub refinishing kit for this but it’s better to have a pro do it as it’ll last longer. Just know that either route is generally only temporary, the paint will wear.

You have to use rust oleum bath and tile, epoxy acrylic, 2 part kit at Home Depot.
