Use Bono floor cleaners with refurbisher.
Wash with Bona for hardwood floors.
They have a product at Lowe’s specifically for this that just mops onto a VERY clean floor. If terrible scratches- renting a floor sander/refinishing might be last option.
Use a product called Rejuvenate.
I'm a fan of this Bono also but if you have scratches or bare spots you will need to restain them. Use Minwax stain, industry standard, to match. put a little on a rag and wipe on wipe off, then Bono maybe more than 1 coat.
Using a swifter spray mop. I use one and wood floors look great.
Use the air spray in a can. I use it, It works well. You can find it in the office supply area.
It depends on how badly scratched they are and if the finish is worn through. We have black water damaged areas in the kitchen on our red oak especially where the dog drips water. Even with a tray and mat under it he dribbles. Love my golden retriever but hard on floors. My husband sanded down a small area to test, treated with oxalic acid then put 3 coats of polyurethane on. It doesn’t look very good because the color doesn’t match. It’s hard to tell because when the floor was wet from poly it looked great. Dried way lighter. We’ll sand again and try the miniwax stain then repoly. Just a word of warning. Before sanding be ready for a big job.
Good luck with your project. We did sand and stain Douglas fir floors in our beach house and I love them.
