How do I get rid of cockleburs from my front lawn?
Used poison from county co-op but it killed the grass too and the cockleburs returned the next year. HELP!
Had a similar situation in the past. Have been told that if your weeds exceed more than 25% of total lawn that it's better to kill off the lawn and start over again. I did not. Used crabgrass killer in early spring, and then a single application of a general weed killer later. Now i also overseed the lawn in the fall. Can't kill too many weeds at once or you'll have pockets of grass inbetween pools of mud.

Hi Cathy, hope this helps you.
1 Pull them out by the root.
2 Pour boiling water directly onto weeds.
3 Spray a salt solution onto the weed leaves.
4 Make an herbicidal soap mixture.
5 Target the weeds with a gas-powered flamer.
6 Use a chemical herbicide as a last resort.
