How do you keep leather from making noises when you sit on it?
We got a new couch with electric recliners on each end. When the foot rests are raised or lowered, they make weird obscene noises. Is there any way to prevent that? I thought about talc powder but then the white would show on the dark leather, wouldn't it?

Have you tried a leather conditioner?
They are new. Give it some time. As long as the noises are not grinding mechanical bits and pieces, it doesn't matter. Just enjoy the comfy new couch!
Call where you got them, see what if any suggestions they may have. You can't be the first to experience this.
How about a drop of WD30? And obscenity is in the ears of the beholder. If you just can’t stand it, turn up the tv, get a yapping dog. Try the talc and clean the leather right away. After a few months, the noises may change again. Happy Spring!
