Can I extend carpet over porcelain tile without removing the tiles?
I am wanting to extend my home’s living room carpet further down my tiled entry way hall, creating a smaller tile area at the entryway, that transitions to carpeting.
In order to do this, will I have to remove the existing tiles where I am wanting to lay the additional carpet, or can I just extend my new carpet over the tiles without removing the tiles?
Both the subfloors under my now existing carpet that I will be removing and replacing with new carpet and under the existing tiles in question are concrete?
I am hoping there might be someway to do this possibly using more padding, or some other technique to keep carpet from looking uneven when transitioning between the two.

Are you installing it yourself? Holes would have to be drilled for the tack strips. There is thicker padding available. I would wonder about the warranty, and if this would be considered appropriate subfloor.
Remove the tile or you will have a noticeable bump up when walking on the carpet over tile. Making it uncomfortable and a trip hazard. Butt the carpet up to the edge of the tile you want to leave. Then install a transition strip overlapping the edges of the tile and carpet. If you were to go over the tile how would you attach the carpet to the tile?
You’ll have to remove the tile. Then scrape the residual thinset and make sure the subfloors align.
Definitely remove the tile like Willaim said. William and Cynthia are correct in what they're saying.
Whatever you decide to do just make sure that whatever will be under the carpet is smooth and even and the carpet will be too.
