How do I naturally repel mosquitoes?
Need a natural spray to deter mosquitos from breeding in our back yard property that is full of trees and brush and is a damp breeding ground . EPA does not allow professional spraying due to possibly harming other animals.

Citronella is a good deterrent for mosquitoes. If you can get hold of the plant, squeeze some leaves in your hand, put liquid into spray bottle, add water and shake well.
Skitters breed in water. Empty any sitting water in containers. Under potted plants etc. there is a citrusy item called mosquito beater, granuals or dounut dunks. They have worked well for me.
We use Mosquito dunks on our property. They are natural, won't harm other animals and supposedly if the ground dries out and the dunk is still viable it will dry and be fine for the next round of rain. I toss them every where in our grass as well as under bushes etc. We have clay just a few feet below our top soil. Since our town gives a large sheet of dunks out free to residents (Yeah) I try to sneak some into our neighbors yards too. It really is fruitless when all our yards are swamps and thus breeding grounds and since they don't spend time out side they do not do anything. Good luck.
Hi Sis - This is the most effective all-natural mosquito and bug spray DIY that we use. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

I have wetlands in my backyard, so it's just not possible to avoid standing water. We have a thermacell and use that when we're outside. It works better than anything I've ever used and mosquitoes love me.
