My kitchen cabinets are embarrassingly greasy. Please share your degreasing tips with me so I don't have to cringe every time I glance at my cabinets.
I always wet my racks with hot water, then add baking soda. I let them sit like this for about 5 minutes. Then I add vinegar so it bubbles up and fizzes. I let sit for another 5 minutes. Then I scrub with a sponge and warm water with dawn dish soap.
I put mine in the dishwasher on a long wash. Soon as the cycle is finished I use a wire brush or steelwool and it rubs of easily. A wire brush works well to get in all the angles.
Spray your racks with oven cleaner, put them in a large garbage bag , tie tightly, and leave overnight. Next day, just wipe. Perfect.
DAWN ULTIMATE 4X & A BATH TUB. Place your racks on a towel or rubber mat inside your bath tub (to prevent the racks from scuffing up your bath tub). Run hot water only & Dawn Ultimate 4x until the racks are covered with water. Let them soak for a few hours. With a green scrubby (without a sponge attached) & wash them while still in the bath tub. Rinse them & they should come clean. For small racks like cooking racks, baking racks & toaster oven racks, place those in an empty storage container just big enough for them to sit flat in the bottom. Immerse them in Coca-Cola & let them soak for a few hours. The acid eats through the gunk & it will mostly just rinse off. It's great for pots, pans, skillets, cast iron & gets rust off things too. I would of suggested this Coca-Cola trick for your oven racks but filling your tub that far would be rather costly. Dawn 4x works wonders!!
Hello, I just research this myself, most manufacturers firmly state not leave racks in self cleaning oven During the cleaning cycle.
They need to be cleaned independently. It seems to be the best solution is to soak overnight in ammonia and these links below describe the process. Im consider using plastic bin that is sized for my racks rather than a plastic bag.
Other options do suggest using oven cleaner in a trash bag here as well as another solution.
Here are some helpful links that I hope will help —you choose the best solution for your need.

Cleaning Oven Racks in Bath With Foil: The Easy Method
For standard cleaning, use a soapy sponge and hot water to wipe the racks. For stubborn messes, soak oven racks in hot water, dish soap, and a couple scoops of baking soda. Let the racks soak in this mixture for 15 to 30 minutes before scrubbing clean with a soft sponge.
I've used a plastic garbage bag, placed the racks in them, poured in a bit of ammonia and let them sit overnight. Cleaned them right up with minimal effort.
