For basic cleaning I always use Simple Green (from home improvement stores in cleaning dept. or Walmart in auto/boat/camping area). It is non toxic, deodorizes, and disinfects too. For the bowl, I use vinegar soak over night with 2 cups. It loosens the mineral deposits, deodorizes, and disinfects. Then I use the bowl scrub brush. If there are any more stains for last resort I use Mr. Clean Magic Toilet bowl brush. It works but it is expensive so it is a last resort, plus it has chemicals in it. Hope this helps, Bob
Lysol black squirt bottle toilet cleaner with a scouring stick for stubborn stains.
Disposable cleaning supplies are my preference for toilets. A roll of paper towels and Scrubbing Bubbles or disposable wipes works well. I prefer a brush with a disposable pad that scrubs, to a regular toilet brush. The rest of the bathroom, a spray on cleaner and microfiber cloths work well. Vinegar and baking soda are good cleaners.
Hi Bob!
I use the old fashioned dry Ajax cleaner. I have used that for over 40 years. You can purchase it at the Dollar Tree and other places. I simply sprinkle it into the commode, let it sit there for a while, clean it well with my toilet brush getting all under the rims inside the commode. On the outside of the commode, I just use a spray disinfectant and disposable wipes. I don't spend a lot of $$ on the cleaning items which I pick up at the Dollar Tree, spray cleaners, etc.
If you have orange rusty stains, get IronOut. (Walmart, Amazon)
sprinkle it in, swish and let it set, do overnight for really tough stains. Bowl and tank. Stains will disappear. Whink is another great liquid rust remover. Gray, hard water build up requires vinegar, CLR or Awesome. Again let it soak. Don’t use metal tools, they will scratch the porcelain
