Hi Roswitha, this article has step by step instructions for restoring your hardwood floors - https://www.wikihow.com/Restore-Hardwood-Floors
A real hardware floor can be sanded and then refinished. It will be expensive but you will have a much nicer finish.
Hi. I don't know about a complete restoration but I use a product called Rejuvenate to clean and restore a shine to my red oak hardwood floors about once a year. You can find it at Home improvement stores. It can be slick for a day or two so if you do use this product lay down runners in traffic areas to prevent falls.
THANK YOU SO MUCH - GREAT ADVICE
I had mine professionally done and I don’t regret it. Money well spent!
Hi Roswitha, I saw someone directed you to an article on the internet about floor restoration. I haven't read the article yet. I will tell you the gentleman who owned my home before me did a DIY job and really messed up our hardwood floors. If you are going with a full restoration, I would recommend a professional. Genuine hardwood floors are very expensive. They are not something you want to mess up.
