Talk with people in a nursery about what you have and see what they will suggest with the sandy soil. They can show you the different items and you can see them up front and personal!
Without a picture it’s hard to make a recommendation. Take several pictures with your phon at different angles. Then take this to different nurseries. They can make recommendations on ground cover and plants.
