Double your closet storage by adding a 2nd rod or cascading hangers. Under the bed storage boxes are great. If you want to put things away for a season, use vacuum storage bags. Roll clothes that you put in drawers to minimize space usage.

If it is seasonal or isn't used often, the storage bags you vacuum down work really well. I do this with the all the linens and things I take off our 5th wheel camper each fall. It takes up much less room and can be stored anywhere, even in the garage on a shelf.
Look up Marie Kondo's advice for folding clothing. The same can be done with sheets and pillowcases.
Hang multiples pairs of slacks/skirts on 1 hanger, or place entire outfits on 1 hanger.
Stack shoes vertically in original boxes. Stack hats vertically.
