How can I spruce up this 16” tall accent piece?
This brass accent piece is in bad shape. The top is bowed in and the brass is in bad shape. I’d appreciate all advice on what to do with this piece to get it into presentable shape. Don’t know whether it will stay inside or go outside.

Here are some cleaning tips for brass that you might find helpful. You can place the stool upside down and see if you can the bowing with a rubber mallet.

You can use a rubber mallet to try and get the bow out of the top. If you lay it flat side down on a smooth flat surface and hit it from below. You could also try and polish it up with brasso and a polishing pad.
Brasso may help polish the brass.
May need to cut a new piece to ft the top.
Even with bow out it may return without underneath support to kerit there. May need to do that to.keep it from bowing more.
Use as is. Have seen whereni is filled with clear resin that is self leveling
You could get a nice thick round butchers block chopping board and glue it to the top to make it into a really pretty plant stand?
Add a mirror top. Use a clay type epoxy to attach mirror and fill in where it needs to be filled in to level.
Brass is a very pliable metal, so it should be pretty easy to reform the bent metal. Next I would find some nice tile and do either a tile top or a mosaic top on it. This will also help with the bowed top on it. You might want to shine the metal up with Brasso then find a nice metal sealer so it won't tarnish anymore. Here you can even you a spray clear varnish or shellac. Just check with the people at the hardware store to see which was better or online!
Might check with a nearby metal shop to have it dipped (to remove discolorations) and spray sealed. Had a couple pieces of brass done 29 years ago and still as shiny as new.
