Green lamp and massive shade! Should I buy new shade? Or should I do something cool to this shade? Wood bench is great as is but I have a patio with lime greens. Ideas for all.
What should I do with this lamp?
I hit an estate sale across the street today. I found these goodies. Its easter weekend so I wont be crafting. I need some ideas. Bench is going to back patio. Colors on patio lime green and black. The lamp is going to our bedroom. We have an american star print quilt. There is green in the quilt! Wall art will go in living room on rustic wall. Debating on what yo do with that gold frame. The gold is pretty obnoxious. Any ideas are welcome. Happy easter weekend everyone!
Pic of our bedroom quilt. It will look awesome with new lamp!

Tone down the gold with a glaze. Paint or replace the shade.
paint the gold frame black, wood slats on bench muted lime green
I've become obsessed with chalk paint that will cover anything. They have such pretty colors that you can experiment with and you can mix some of your paints together for the color you desire.
A new lampshade shape would modernize it. Very interesting look!
1. Paint the slats of the bench lime.
2. Paint the picture frames white or black to make them more cohesive.
3. Paint the lamp base white or navy and leave the lamp shade as is or cover it with burlap or wrap with sisal rope.
If you have green patio arrangement, put a solar lamp and use it as decoration outside,,,,,,but if you want to use it inside, definitly change the shade,,,,,
I would look for a new lamp shade but I would look at resale shops for something on the older side. Don't look just once and then settle for something. Keep looking and eventually you will find a cool old lamp shade that will be perfect. I would stay away from white.Happy hunting
Get a shorter flared shade. Paint the brass portion black. Depending on where you want to use the frame paint it a different color. Like in the bedroom paint to match the headboard and add a star quilt piece inside. In another room co-ordinate the frame to match something in there. Use two colors of chalk paint one dark that will stay in the cracks and one lighter you just highlight the darker color with. Put a coat of preservative on the bench and add some lime green pillows. One post showed a word like HOME or LOVE, or a name that was made into a stencil with contact paper. Paint the rest of the picture over the original painting and then remove the contact paper. You will have pieces of the original painting showing thru in a cool tapestry look.
Lol...you must have been to my mother in laws...she has every one of these items.
I would paint the gold frame with chalk paint!
