I live in a trailer and want to make shutters for the inside of the windows.I only need to go half the way up the windows. Cheaper material is good because I'll paint them. Whatever hardware they need ,etc

How can I resize a screen door?

Shop thrift stores or yard / rummage sales for wooden slat type blinds. They’ll make a good source of material. Take apart and build to your requirements.

Shop at Habitat for Humanity thrift. Keep going back as they get donations to sell. They have a lot of building materials and old shutters.

Super easy I’d use fence pickets. Let me send you a photo I did some that slide inside my laundry room. I only used fence pickets and 1x3. I cut them to the length I desired and glued them side by side and used a clamp and bunch of heavy paint cans on top so they didn’t bow and bend. Trimmed them with the 1/3.
