Inside: Diatomaceous earth
Outside: Jiffy corn muffin mix on the mound - or - poke a hole in center of mound and pour boiling water down the hole.
Hi Vickie - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Our lot is a bit on the low side, and when it rains really hard, the ants find a way (or ways) to get in the house. I tried everything I read to get rid of them. Nothing worked really well. I read an article about peppermint oil that said that ants AND spiders did not like the odor of peppermint. It is true. I find the area where they are coming in and put the oil on and around that area and it works, until the next big rain anyway! Good luck!
Terro ant traps.
You just need some Borax, sugar and water.
Add 1/2 Cup of sugar to a bowl.
Then add 3 Tablespoons of Borax. (It’s a detergent that can be found in cleaning aisle of the grocery store). Mix together well.
Add a little bit of water.
Just enough to make a thick syrup.Add to a shallow dish and watch the ants flock to it! ***Keep this mixture away from children and pets! The ants will nibble on this mixture, but won’t die immediately. They will take it back to their nests, killing the entire colony! If you have ant hills, simply dribble this mixture on and around the nest. The ants are drawn to the sugar, but the Borax will kill them! Whoop!
