How do I prevent spicer egg pockets in my cinder block planters?
I made a cinder block planter section on my patio. I am taking them down to remove old paint from the patio.I noticed when I did that the holes were full of spicer egg pockets. How can I prevent this when I replace them again.I use them to put potted plants on. Thanks. Everything is cement around them, however some dirt had fallen fromthe planters. Thanks Penne

Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Raid spray them on inside do it periodically;ones that you cannot see openings you can fill with canned spray foam insulation it is expanding then cut off stuff that spills out past edges. do them on a board sprayed with silicone lubricant lay block on board add enuf foam to fill about 1/2 of opening let expand then add more as/if needed & do each block individually so you can keep them seperate so you can still move them as needed. if you do them while stacked they'll be stuck together.Since I don't know exactly how you are stacking or setting them up I can't really offer too much more maybe a picture so I can see how exposed they are.you can also paint the insides of them with Kilz or Zinsser this will fill some of the tiny holes making them less pourous so little spiders won't leave egg cases
Hose out periodically throughout the season.
You might “powder” them with boric acid (generic Roach Proof) or diatomaceous earth (food grade).
Remember, spiders are your friends in the garden. :) They eat lots of bad bugs.
