is the jut out of concrete at the foot or the head of the bed? If it's at the head of the bed use screens or a tall headboard and use the screened area for extra storage. If on tight budget you could hang curtain from the ceiling.
The full drawing didn't come thru for me. Can bed go on wall across from jut out, so you have room for night stands? Put dresser where bed is?
Can you put a nice piece of wood on the top and use it for decorative items? Not quite sure of your drawing and how it really looks in person. Can you share a picture? You might get more creative ideas.
Could you put a shelf unit or a small chest of drawers on top of the bump out?
I agree, this is difficult to imagine, a photo may help the more creative folks come up with some great ideas.
It's hard to tell by the picture, because you didn't include other room components, such as windows, door, etc. Also, you didn't give a height measurement for the concrete block. Simplest solution is to treat it as a bench, shelf, or mantel piece, depending on it's height. If your bed could fit with headboard on the wall directly across from it, mount a television above it so that when you lie in bed it works as a shelf with television above. Or, if it's the right height to mimic a fireplace, treat the top as a mantel piece, and where the fireplace opening would be place a fire place screen with votive holders (I've seen them in wrought iron) and paint it to mimic a fire place with the votive candles giving the feeling of a fire place. If you want a farm house look, incorporate several raw wood open shelves above it. If it is appropriate height and scale, place the head of your bed up against it and paint it an accent color that compliments your bedding, treating it as a headboard.
You could put a piece of furniture against it and remove the rear legs so it's sitting on the concrete. You can build a nightstand that incorporates that section so it's camouflaged.
