How do I stop carpenter bees from eating my would cabin?

They are very sensitive to smell. You can spray WD-40, but that can get very expensive. We use termite control Hi-Yield 38Plus, mixed to termite ratio, in a garden sprayer. Spray the area well and they will stop drilling in your wood. We do it twice a year and has been very effective for us.
Visit home depot, they carry the traps and also a foam you spray where they are boring to kill them
make a carpenter bee trap. They work though you do have to keep emptying them , because after so many die the bees won't go in because they can smell the dead ones.Also do the entry hole at an angle so they will go towards the light which is the trap.
