How do you level a small concrete pad?
We have a lamp post in a planter that's on about a 2 foot square concrete pad. It has not been level since we bought the house 4 years ago. We have tried pulling up one end to make it level but cannot get it to budge! We built a new planter for it and put it a new light, but the leaning really bothers me. Any suggestions?

Hi Donna. Aside from disassembling the entire planter and light to dig under the pad and using a prybar to lift and level, you could make a "lawn character" , ie: gnome, kid, etc. Attached to the planter, to look as if it's pushing the lamp post into place.😀 A great way to display your house number too😊
Great idea and fun too. If you get tired of that there are concrete leveling co that do just that, not too exspensive either. Much cheaper than new concrete.
You should be able to move a 2 x 2 pad. Pry up with a spud bar or crowbar and fill under with gravel. You could also try a rope at the level where the pipe meets the ground to pull in the opposite direction of the lean. Add gravel to level.
We've tried lifting the low end with a combination of hydraulic jacks, chains and wood. The problems is, it's sitting on dirt so there's nothing for the spud bar or crow bar to rest on. It's frustrating, but we'll keep trying. Thank you for the suggestions!
add wood shims or pieces of concrete under planter so it is level;it would be much cheaper to build frame and add/pour concrete to top of pad to level it than trying to lift it,also pad is probably level with ground( which is not) so you would need to make it unlevel with ground area and make the planter eye level/pleasing. The gnome is cute idea none pushing only climbing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AKKI9OO/ref=psdc_14008351_t1_B004FJVI2Q this would work with out the top guy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004FJVI2Q/?tag=s987-20

Instead of trying to pry it up on the low end. Dig under the high end and stick a garden hose full blast under it to wash the soil out. Even if it tilts back too much you can underpin it with gravel. I have used this method for to "dig" holes under walkways and driveways to run cables and wires under them instead of tearing up concrete. Still love the gnome idea. I would have him climbing on the tilted side.
