Hello Margaret,
I have never had it done myself and would only consider if it was an unusual style bath or it was in a historical house as the cost of having your bath removed and re-stove enameled might be pricey, but other have done it and have been satisfied with the results.
Just know, resurfacing is really just a quality epoxy paint job. And yes pros do it best. On average last around 4 years. I redo mine every 5 years living with it shabby for several months. I have a 125 year old claw foot that I love and use it every night. Originally cost $200. Now it's up to $600.
No it comes off
It’ll eventually wear so you’ll need to evaluate if having to keep redoing it is a worthwhile investment for you.
Thank you
Hi Margaret, it is if you are not going to want it to last longer than 10 years, it will hold out if you ensure you don't use harsh or abrasive cleaners on it . We wanted a new look but were not prepared to not have a working bathroom for days or weeks during renos, so we opted for Bathfitter, 1 day to install, and let the sealant set for 24 hours, we love it, they are pricey but they last for years. You can also pick the style you like. I don't work for them but I sure am a fan! https://oneday.bathfitter.com/
