How can I get rid of carpenter bees that have bored holes in porch?

Carpenter bees will not go away even after spraying holes with poison made to drive them away? Have put up carpenter bee traps but they will not go in them.

I wait until evening when they go in and then put wood glue or caulk in the hole....this seals them in. I also look for other openings as they have more than one.

Thank you, have caulked holes this morning and they keep flying around pole, but still avoid trap.

Wife and neighbors would have a fit if I played some of my AC/DC recordings loud outside, then she’d get rid of me!

We also have filled in the holes after they enter and seal them in with caulking. It seems to work the best. It takes diligence, but it will get rid of them. They are very territorial so if you rid the wood of the invaders you may not need to do it again until the following summer. I have not tried spraying the wood with insect killer first for prevention, but it might buy some time until it rains again.
