How do I get rid of the violets that sprout up in the yard?
Hoping someone can tell me how to get rid of wild violets that sprout up, every spring, in my hostas, irises, and other plant beds. How can I get rid of them without killing everything around them?

Hi Debbie - unfortunately you have to dig them up to avoid killing other things around them. I have tons - and try to get a hold on them early. If they are isolated form plants - the 5% white vinegar , mixed with table salt and a squirt of dishwashing liquid will kill them - but Unfortaunly that will also kill other "good plants".
Hello Debbie! Those pretty little violets (or johnny jump ups) can be hard to get rid of. You can pull them up but you have to get all the roots or you can use a spot spray being careful not to get any on your other plants.
