Since wild violets are perennial weeds, autumn would be the best time to tackle the invasive plants. Use a broadleaf killer that contains 2,4-D or Dicamba, and it will selectively kill the violets without damaging the grass. On average, it takes about 2 weeks for 2,4-D to take effect. Good luck!
Dig them up and bring them to my house!!!!! I LOVE violets. They are pretty AND are wonderful for making violet syrup.
Yes, I know. Not helpful advice, but I couldn't resist. and seriously, try making violet syrup before eradicating the little things. it's beautiful and delicious.
