Try using a stone polish or attach a buffing pad to a drill to clean & buff old build up off.
Once cleaned and buffed, use water resistant canons (so?) oil or oil-based poly in several layers, or waterproof epoxy to get several years’ use for your table.

Clean very well then apply stone sealer with enhancers. Try to get exterior one. Use several coats.
Try buffing vegetable oil on it with a soft rag or t-shirt. Use a small amount as it goes a long way.
