How the heck do you clean old aluminum blinds?

My skinny slat double window aluminum blinds are about 15 years old.. and ..though they work just fine..they are dusty dirty..! The idea of taking them down and hosing them off... not something I want to do because..they are big and heavy..helpšŸ¤”

    I've seen them cleaned using tongs and microfiber cloth. My adaptation of that was to put a tube sock over each tong (secure with rubber bands if they are too loose), and I have cleaned old blinds doing that. If you don't have any socks that would work (I usually have a few mismatched socks) you can buy a pair at the dollar store.

    I just swifter mine, do the back and front by changing the tilt.

    I use the vacuum to clean mine. I use the little brush attachment and vacuum both sides by opening them all the way and closing them all the way the other direction.

    I clean mine the "old way". Get a bowl of hot slightly soapy water, soft cloth, dip the cloth into the mixture, wring out well, and go to work. Clean each blind by having the cloth cover each side of the blind and cleaning back and forth. Work from top to bottom and you will be amazed how how dirty the blinds are (even though they look fairly clean. Dip the cloth and do the next few slats.....it's time consuming but oh so worthwhile and well worth it to know your blinds are white glove clean.
