Find a home in a cabinet, drawer or pantry for all the unnecessary items sitting out on the counters. It might be necessary to do a purge and get rid of things you no longer use to have space for the things you do use. My house is small by American standards and therefore my kitchen is small too. I have a shelving unit out in my garage for the lesser used or occasional use items. I cook just daily, so I have a lot of stuff.
Hi Kandi,
I have the same problem and solved it by taking time to place the items not used daily and put them in a plastic bag (things like remove all but 2 of the wooden spoons, duplicates of anything else-like spatulas, etc) you get the idea. Keep that bag in an out of the way part of the cupboard. If you have not used them in a month, they can go away. I had 6 colander strainers, assorted sizes, now have 3-making room for necessary items. Get rid of bulky rarely used appliances, either store else where or let it go.
