How can I kill a pecan tree 19" tall that came up in a flower bed ?
There are too many plants around it to try to spray Round Up and I can't pull it up.
I clean out the weeds by pulling or digging them out in the spring, then apply Preen Weed Preventer as directed. It prevents weed seeds from germinating and all you need to do is clean up the things like creeping charlie and some grasses that breed by the roots. Those I clean up to outside the garden and then you can catch them as they migrate into the garden edges and makes it much easier. The preen really does work and helps keep the garden much cleaner. It doesn't not affect any seeds that I have planted.
Sharon....My husband is very careful not to get any of the poison on our plants and really does a good job.....so far!
Hand pull. Or confined spray of herbicide.
Or smother them, newspaper, cardboard or landscape fabric with mulch on top. No sun = no grow.
