How do I clean grease from my kitchen ceiling?
I do have quite a bit of peeling paint as well, and i want to repaint with latex semi-gloss
All you can do is try to wash down. Try hot soapy Dawn water . If that doesn't work try TSP. May still leave a stain, may have to repaint
Hi G,
The first step is to vacuum the walls to remove as much soot as possible. You can also use a dry cleaning sponge to do that. Just check it frequently so that you switch to a clean area when it gets dirty. You can also cut that sponge horizontally to remove the parts with the soot. Next mix equal parts of vinegar and water with a few drops of Dawn. Work in small sections to clean that part. It's easiest to do by using a spray bottle for your mixture. Once it's all off, rinse with clean water then dry. Wishing you the best.
Most hardware type stores (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) sell what is called a SOOT or SMOKE SPONGE to clean it
Soot/smoke is oily use hot water & lots dawn dish soap and wash cloth,do it gently so you don't rub it into paint. rinse well
