Don't know. To make the one in picture. You need to buy the resized wood since you can't plane them. Need a jig saw and chisel to make the inset joint for the cross pieces, wood glue and clamps.

If you are unable to cut out the areas for the frame to enter the legs, then try buying 2X2 boards and make the cross pieces longer, but you will have to set them in between two cut leg sections X 4 legs to get the strength. The problem with this is that you will see the butt ends of the cross pieces in the legs. If you paint the stand then the showing butt ends will not matter.
