Hi Carla, are your steps made of wood or concrete? Are they covered with carpet or painted?

Stairs Renovation
One the easiest things to do is paint the risers. Riser is the part that is vertical. The part you do not step on. Anyways, you can paint the riser and stencil tile design on it or some people stencil numbers on there for fun.
What is it exactly that you want to improve about the steps - appearance, safety, lighting, etc. ?
Without seeing first what you are starting with, it is hard to give suggestions on how it could be made better.
