Hi Belinda. You could plant Marigolds around the plants where you see grasshoppers. The grasshoppers would rather go to the Marigolds.
Grasshoppers are relentless, aren't they? I would plant trap crops like marigolds as mentioned above, if you have chickens, they love them, and use a repellant such as garlic/pepper spray or peppermint to try to deter them.
