Hi Theresa,
A fence is the most common way, or you might consider raised bed or container gardening.
Check for any "rabbit" size holes in your fence or the ground clearance for your fence isn't low enough to keep them out
We use netting in addition to the fencing at the bottom. Make sure that it goes along the ground about six inches so they don’t slip underneath it. We covered with dirt.
Rabbits dig, so adding fencing that is buried in the ground about a foot and has really small openings. I have chain link and they just crawl right through it or around the gates. You can also use cat hair, just gather it up and sprinkle it around the area, it can scare them off. I have also been recommended fox urine which you can buy online. I bought a fox/coyote blend that worked well.
I read this from Gma Kirk: A farmer gave me a gross recipe for rabbit repellent...but it works. cup or two of urine, tablespoons of crushed garlic, and cayenne pepper, two eggs in a gallon jug, shake well, fill rest of the way with water. Cap and let age a week. Then you drizzle small stream around the perimeter of whatever you want to keep them from eating.
