I used moth balls on the ground in the garden or I have heard of some using black pepper mixed with water sprayed on the leavesHelpful Reply -

I use both cayenne pepper powder and grated Irish Spring Soap where ever I have problems with critters. If you want to put it on the plants themselves, try hot sauce in a spray bottle. Do this as soon as you see them come up out of the ground, that is when the critters like them the most. The powder and soap I put down when I think they are close to coming up. The powder and the spray need to be renewed whenever it rains, or you don't see it around the plants to keep it covered. The grated soap lasts longer.Helpful Reply -

Go to a local hairdresser and make a deal to pick up a garbage bag per week of the hair clippings. Deer and rabbits will stay away. Some people buy the big predator animal poop from any local zoo.Helpful Reply -
