Probably not but call your local nursery to get more information for your area and project.
Hi Lyle. I have strawberries in my raised garden and they do just fine thru the winter. After your first frost, cut the plants down to the ground. Leave the roots intact. I cover my plants with mulch and cardboard. After the last frost in the Spring, I uncover them and they come right back. Good luck with yours.
Ours do with no protection- but we live in the UK where tempratures freeze overnight but during the day tempratures are about 3-4 degrees celsius in winter. I think it's a great idea to ask at your local garden center to fnd advice fir your area
I have all my strawberry plants in raised beds. I add a layer of leaves in the Fall to protect them somewhat. My beds are around 18 inches off the ground made of 4x4 PT boards. I've not had an issue with them not surviving and I live in zone 5a (Iowa).
